You will need to request forms D2 and D4 from DVLA so that you can apply for provisional entitlement. D4 is to be completed by a doctor which can be your own GP or a private firm that specialises in driver medicals. D2 is to be completed by yourself and select the provisional entitlements that you would like to gain.
Once both forms are complete, get them in the post and wait for your licence to come back.
You will have to sit a theory test which is made up of different parts and is part of the CPC.
1 - Multiple choice (Pass mark 85 out of 100)
2 - Hazard perception (Pass mark 67 out of 100)
The hazard perception part consist of 19 video clips.

You get points for spotting the developing hazards as soon as they start to happen.
3 - Driver CPC Case Studies (Pass mark 40 out of 50)
The test is made up of 7 case studies you work through on a computer. The case studies are short stories based on situations that you’re likely to come across in your working life.
You’ll be asked between 6 and 8 multiple-choice questions on each case study.
4 - Driver CPC Practical Demonstration (Pass mark 80 out of 100)

The test is made up of 5 topics from the Driver CPC syllabus. You can score up to 20 points for each topic.
To pass you have to score at least 15 out of 20 in each topic area and have an overall score of at least 80 out of 100.
Do your research and find a reputable training provider. Look forward to starting your training which is usually a 5 day course, learning everything you need to know to pass your test.
Now that you’ve passed your test, it’s time to start your career out on the road.
